The Guest Bedroom

image: Coastal Living
I have always wanted to have a guest bedroom with twin beds. I think it must be the symmetrical look that I like. A nightstand or dresser in-between completes the look. The simplicity in this room appeals to me. The window is incredible. And I don't think these headboards would be too difficult to replicate.

Very pretty and feminine.

Another simple room that appeals to me. Love the hospital beds, very retro. Notice the glass door knob? This room would be perfect in the right house... like mine, ha!

What a cute guest bedroom this would make for grandchildren.....someday. Much later ! ;)
I really like the french doors, windows, wainscoting, and the shade of green on the walls. Well okay, I like everything about this room.

A very nice, neutral guest bedroom.
So...which one is your favorite, or do you have something completely different in mind for a guest bedroom?

  1. oh my do we have to choose just one?? Love the soothing tone set in the first picture. It feels like a breath of fresh air but I also love the colors in the last picture and that door! I want doors like that!

  2. I love the bottom two pics! My grandpa had a guest bedroom with two twins. It was great for all of his family when we came, especially his grandkids. It would be nice to have, especially if you have lots of room and had another guest room with a double/queen. :)

  3. Hi, I'm new to this blog, but I'm really loving your pictures! I have always wanted a guest room with two beds too! I think my two favorites from these pics would be the first one because the fluffy bedding makes these beds look so comfy, and I like the one with the hospital beds! My grandparents actually had a few iron ones that I'd love to have for my guest room one day. I'd like to paint them either white, red, or light blue.

  4. What a fun post Alice! MOTH & I recently shared a hotel room in Sydney with twin beds, it was such fun - like we were at camp. However, in the middle of the night I woke to the sight of MOTH wandering around, moving out the bedside table in between the beds & pushing his bed over to mine. He said he missed me - bless him!

  5. Pretty. I like all of them. I like the green wall color on just the top and then the white for the rest. Good look. Makes the room look bigger.

  6. I have always loved rooms with two twin beds..I guess it reminds me of the old black and white movies...you know with Spencer Tracy....The pictures you found modernize the idea and it's really nice...I liked the one with the iron hospital style beds the best....

  7. I love the third one. My favorite colors are green and pink, so that's what I gravitate towards. Something about the upholstered headboards in the first picture reminds me of a bridesmaid dress gone wrong.

We are currently renovating our apartment. We have one of the bedrooms almost finished. We're having a lot of trouble with the living room though. (It's an apartment in Queens, NY therefore space is limited). We want to make it look the apartment look as big as possible. Any ideas or suggestions would be of great help.

  8. I love them all. They all look good. I guess it would depend on the look you want that goes with the house. Unfortunately we don't have room for a guest room.
