Love that 50's pink tile

Liz at Mable's House also ponders the question of what to do with that 50's pink tile in the powder room. Like her, I also fell in love with the pink tile in question. Wish I could take credit for my bathroom above, but the previous owner took advantage of the pink and brown color combination in it's highth of popularity. I'll have to say it is one of my favorite rooms in the house, how sad is that :) I also love the pink bathroom that Liz is thinking about from Real Simple in their article Save the Pink Bathroom. I think it would be perfect in her space. As much as I love my powder room, It is a little unpractical for our family. We really could use two sinks... and a shower would be nice. So until the time comes for a renovation, I am going to enjoy my pink tile.

  2. Ah, great way to embrace the pink tile! When we moved in, our bathroom had a pink toilet, tub and vanity...actually rose is the color it was called. To go with it, they had green carpeting, in the bathroom. So gross! It was the first thing to go!

  3. Liz, thanks for stopping by. If you asked me 5 years ago, I would never have imagined that I would like a bathroom with pink tile....but when I saw this one, I was hooked. Definately wouldn't do a new house with it, but it is good to see that you can work around it, and actually make it look nice. Don't know that a man would be too thrilled though :) oh well.... I can't wait to see what you do with yours.

  4. Tanya, I'm so glad you came by too!
Our first house had carpeting in the bathroom....who thought of that? Very disgusting. At the time our son was 2, didn't take long for it to come up either, yuk!
Thanks for sharing such wonderful recipes on your blog, just wanted to let you know that my family is really enjoying them!

  6. Can you tell me what paint color that is? I am thinking of redoing my pink bathroom scheme because it happens to be the bathroom that my son uses.
    Thanks for the great ideas!

  7. Hi Micrendle, Thanks for stopping by. I just saw your question. Honestly we didn't paint it. The previous owners did. But they left paint cans in the garage. I'll go out this weekend and see if I can figure it out. Glad you like it.

  8. This bathroom is our inspiration room! We have pink tile also and already thought of the brown color to tone down all the pink. Your last post stated you were going to look at the paint cans, have you had a chance to do that? We went to Home Depot tonight and got some paint chips, but cannot decide yet. Your bathroom is absolutley beautiful.

  9. Hi Anonymous! Glad you like the pink and brown.
It looks like the color is a customized color. It is from Kelly-Moore.
the color number or formula is 1010-555

I don't know what that means, but that is what they wrote on the can. They used an interior acrylic eggshell enamel. I hope that helps.
If they can't figure it out, e-mail me and I can paint some on some card stock or something for you and mail it to you. If you like it, Home Depot should beable to match it.
