All Moved In...

And I have a little dilema. There are two niches here on each side of the entry into the dining room. The sofa sits in front of the entry with just enough room to walk through. I'm thinking of a couple of different things for the niches. One being these sconces from Pottery Barn. They are 20 inches long, so they would fit nicely with a little room on top and bottom.
The other idea I had was maybe a couple of glass shelves in each niche for photos etc...
Although I would love to hear any other ideas that you may have.

  1. Hi Alice,

I think the pottery barn candle holders would look better than putting in glass shelving and putting photo frames in there. Hope this helps. This is the first time that I have visited your blog! So am now going back and catching up...
    Have a great day

  2. I think the scones are a great idea because they tie in with the light fixture in the dining room creating a very cohesive feeling. It would also be a cleaner less cluttered look, which is what I know you love. The reflection from the glass/candlelight will be very nice!

  4. Hi Alice...happy to hear your all moved in....I wouldn't do glass shelves in the nooks...We have some glass shelves around the house and they are so hard to keep dust free....so I don't keep them dust free!! They get messy looking after awhile....your so good at finding the best pictures of decorated kitchens...why don't you Google "Nook decorations" and see what comes out...

  5. Ooh, what an interesting challenge these niches present! I think the sconces would look lovely. It looks like you have arches and light fixtures that are very similar to those in our home. We don't have any niches like that, but I almost wish we did!
