MY 1959 KITCHEN REMODEL

After a long year of dust and frustration, my 1950s kitchen is finally finished!
We updated the tiny bathroom off the laundry room as well. Pictures coming soon for that project.

Citrus Kitchen

I came across this picture while looking for "white kitchen" inspiration.
I love citrus green and yellow in the kitchen, so fresh and clean. And in anticipation of spring...it just makes me smile.

White Kitchen Inspiration

I needed a little break from organizing. I'm about ready to tackle the kitchen and could really use a little inspiration before I get started. So, I thought I'd share some pictures of kitchens that I have been enjoying.

I think the first kitchen is my favorite, although I would gladly take any of them ;)

Simply Beautiful White Kitchens

I haven't posted any inspiration pictures of white kitchens in awhile now. Thought I would share a few that I found at House Beautiful.

When can I move in? This kitchen has a lot of space, it would be fun to bake in here. Some of the things I love... the floor, subway tile, and the stainless steel hood.

Love this black mirror, a little unexpected...what a great idea. That island is fabulous, simple but functional.

A little on the smaller side, but it's so open, and has all the elements that I love.

Love the windows, cabinetry, and the sink. I would probably have to replace the crab picture with something else...

Very elegant.

What's not to love about this kitchen? And I immediately noticed the Arte Italica coffee canister, and the Le Creuset tea kettle. It's funny ever since I started working at the kitchen store I always notice (in pictures and in movies etc...) what accessories are in the kitchen. One of the other girls that I work with said she does the same thing ha ha!

Love the black and white.

Love just about everything in this kitchen. The island with the towel bar, pot racks, subway tile...

San Francisco Inspiration and My 100th Post

This is my 100th post... gosh, is it 100 already??? Like they say, "Time flies when you're having fun." When I began blogging last year, I had no idea I would enjoy it so much. I have discovered so many wonderful people and blogs along the way. And have really enjoyed getting to know new friends, and visiting with some old friends. This blog world is incredible... people willing to share ideas, inspiration, personal stories, hopes and dreams. And let's not forget the recipes ;) I have discovered some wonderful recipes! I look forward to the next 100 posts and hope that you enjoy them. My day is made when I log into my blog and find that I have a comment. So please, if you are so inclined... I love comments!
Now, onto some inspiration.
This home is located in San Francisco.(Where my daughter happens to be spending the day today, in the city, not this home ha ha!)

I really love the contrast of the white against the chocolate brown walls. The chandelier is gorgeous, and the little zebra stool adds a nice touch of whimsy.

Love the white and yellow in the kitchen. Beautiful marble counters, open shelving. All the whiteware, what's not to love???

Beautiful corner sink. Wouldn't mind calling this place home ;)

More Favorite White Kitchens

image: Living etc.
I'm a big fan of industrial kitchens, and this one does not disappoint. Love the stainless steel, the subway tile, and the utensil system over the professional stove. I have always wanted a clock like this in my kitchen, but for some reason the three kitchens that I have had, have never had wall space to hang anything on. Note to self: Next kitchen make sure there is plenty of wall space.

I love the pop of green the French bistro chairs add.

I really like open shelving, and these galvanized containers add a nice element. Notice the touch of green the apples lend. (I'm noticing a pattern here)

And now to totally throw you, I thought I would share an image of a red kitchen for my friend that reads my blog and loves red. As much as I love white kitchens... this red one makes me smile!

kitchen Inspiration

I know I have posted this kitchen before, but I thought is was worth re-visiting. I am really loving the style of pot rack in the two above pictures.

I'm always torn between having things on the counter for convenience, such as the toaster, stand mixer etc... and loving the minimal look with "clean" counters.

This ceiling is fabulous, also love the lighting!

Simple, but the chandeliers and bar stools add so much character. Love the un-dressed windows over the sink.

I really like the stainless steel work surface on wheels.

A Little Kitchen Inspiration

I love the openness of this kitchen. The long table (love the chairs) it just says family and friends to me.

Of course right away I'm drawn to the organized cabinets.

This just makes me happy. Look at all that whiteware, perfectly stacked. And a ton of it. I don't particularly care for a lot of "stuff"... But having this stuff is wonderful ;)
Just look at that floor, and the counters!

Ina Garten's Barn

I picked up this month's copy of House Beautiful and was very happy to find pictures of Ina's barn. I love her style. Simple, clean, neutral and natural. Very calming.

My dream

I love how she hasn't over accessorized... just what you need.
Ina believes in using good quality, simple ingredients in her food, and she feels it should be the same in decorating. I couldn't agree more.
Now I'd like to see pictures of the inside of her home.
