I don't know if you noticed from my blog favorites, but I have been a little cupcake bakery/blog obsessed lately. Today while visiting my mom in Elk Grove, we discovered the cutest cupcake bakery in the old historic part of town. (ok, when I was growing up that was just the "town" part of Elk Grove, when did it become historic??? Talk about making you feel old ha ha!)
LuLu's Cupcakes is everything that you would expect a cupcake bakery to be and more. The pink walls, beautiful chandeliers and pink and brown table linens...Perfection!
LuLu was so sweet and took the time to chat with us about her bakery, and help us make a selection of cupcakes to take home.
An extensive menu, surely something for everyone... But if cupcakes are not your thing there is an array of other treats, ice cream, brownies, rice krispie treats, and the list goes on.
We decided on Berry Blast, Strawberry Lemonade, and couldn't leave without a Chocolate. All very delicious.

I needed a little break from organizing. I'm about ready to tackle the kitchen and could really use a little inspiration before I get started. So, I thought I'd share some pictures of kitchens that I have been enjoying.

Sad to say I have been spending my vacation cleaning and organizing. Well, so far just organizing, hopefully I will be finished with the organizing/de-cluttering part soon, and I can move on to the cleaning phase. I do see a light at the end of the tunnel. I think it's amazing how much junk one family can accumulate... seems like I just did all of this.
Hopefully I will be finished soon and I can spend some time doing things that are a little more fun... like organizing all of my loose recipes and photos ha ha!

One day last month we spent the day in Carmel. Tommy had never been, so we tried to get in as much as we could in that afternoon. There is so much more... we are planning another trip soon.
Roxy and Melissa at the beach
It was a beautiful day.
It was a beautiful day.
One of the things that I love about Carmel is that it's the dog friendliest city. There are dog bowls filled with water, most shops welcome your dogs in with little treats.
This is our favorite place to eat. They even have a dogie menu. This was also Roxy's first trip to Carmel, I think they had a good time!
Melissa, Tommy and Roxy at Forge in the Forest
We took Tommy on 17 mile drive. Of course I notice the homes. Tommy was nice enough to get some really great shots for me.
